Van Wert welcomes second new doctor

Van Wert Medical Services is pleased to announce the addition of Samar Hijazi, M.D., to its group of trusted physicians.

Dr. Hijazi is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She joins the team, providing comprehensive medical care that focuses on disease prevention, diagnosis, control and treatment to adult patients.

Her office will be located in Suite 201 of the Van Wert Health Center, and she began seeing patients this Monday. Regular clinic office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.-noon.

“We are honored to announce the arrival of Dr. Hijazi to Van Wert Medical Services,” said Van Wert Medical Services Executive Director Nick Spoonmore. “Her expertise in internal medicine made her a desirable candidate to join our team.

“We are thrilled to welcome her to the Van Wert community,” Spoonmore added. “She will be an invaluable member to our practice, allowing us to continue to provide highly-skilled care to our patients.”

Dr. Hijazi is a graduate of the University of Jordan. Her postgraduate residency and training was conducted at The State University of New York at Buffalo, where she participated in a graduate medical-dental education consortium.

Dr. Hijazi most recently worked as an attending physician at King Hussein Cancer Institute, Amman, Jordan. Other work includes being attending physician at North Buffalo Medical Park-Kalieda Health, Buffalo, N.Y.; primary care physician at Tonawanda Medical Services in Buffalo; and serving as hospitalist with HPS Group-Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Kenmore, N.Y.
