Locals set Guinness world record

Locals set Guinness world record 8-2013

Four local residents recently set a new Guinness World Record at the Guinness World Records Museum in Gatlinburg, Tenn., Melissa Burk, Kendall Dye, Nick Cunningham, and Matt Noggle were successful in their attempt to break the work block building record. The record achieved is for the tallest structure built with interlocking plastic bricks in one minute by a team of four.  The locals were able to break the former record of 42 interlocking bricks by three bricks, bringing the new record to 45 bricks.  Each person was only permitted to use one hand and the structure was not allowed to fall or the attempt was disqualified. Shown are (from the left) the official Guinness announcer, Noggle, Burk, Dye and Cunningham and the official Guinness adjudicator. (photo submitted)
