Knight boys 7th, girls 11th at CG meet

COLUMBUS GROVE — The Crestview varsity boys’ cross country team finished seventh out of 20 teams at the Grove Invitational on Saturday.

Charles Thornburg led the Knights with a sixth place overall finish in a personal record time of 17:05.  Also scoring for Crestview was Branden Clayton (14th, 17:32), Copsey Bogle (36th, 18:33), Cody Mefferd (52nd, 19:01), and Bryce Richardson (59th, 19:17)

The Crestview varsity girls’ team finished 11th out of 13 teams.

Chelsea Hancock ran a 22:45 to place 34th and lead the Lady Knights. Also scoring for Crestview was Brooke Ripley, 23:42; Hali Finfrock, 24:19; Janelle May, 25:58; and Meghan Sherman, 27:07.

The Crestview junior varsity team placed sixth out of 18 teams from all divisions. Eli Jones paced the Knights, placing 23rd in a time of 19:49. He was followed by Jon Krouse in 25th place, Corbin Schumm, 44th; Caleb Bagley, 48th; and Noah Daugherty, 70th.

The Knights will race next Saturday at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival.
