VW hospital offers parenting workshop
Van Wert County Hospital news
Van Wert County Hospital will offer Active Parenting of Teens workshop for parents of children ages 12-18. The six-session video and discussion program will be held on Thursday evenings. Beginning September 12, each session will be held in the hospital’s B and C conference rooms from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Van Wert Hospital is located at 1250 S. Washington St.
“We are proud to offer Active Parenting of Teens to the parents in our community,” says Julia Gauvey, LSW, MSW, of the Social Services and Transition Care Department of Van Wert County Hospital. “This program combines entertaining video and discussion to help parents learn how to raise children who are cooperative, responsible and able to resist peer pressure.
“It also guides parents in dealing with sensitive issues such as drugs, sexuality and violence,” Gauvey added.
This parenting workshop is funded by a grant provided by the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund. The mission of the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund (OCTF) is to take a leadership role and be a catalyst in preventing child abuse and neglect in Ohio.
