Knight v-ball team wins tri-match

The Lady Knights volleyball team hosted Kalida and Antwerp in a non-conference tri-match on Saturday, and Crestview came out on top in both matches to bring its overall record to 8-1, while the Knights are 2-0 on Northwest Conference play.

Game scores against Kalida were 25-22 and 25-17, while the Knights won 25-10 and 25-12 against the Lady Archers.

In the second match of the day, the Lady Wildcats defeated Antwerp in three games.

The Crestview junior varsity team was also victorious against both teams and is now 5-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

“I was pleased at how we pulled together despite three key injuries we faced today,” said Crestview Coach Tammy Gregory. “The girls stepped up when they needed to and took care of the little things.

“Once again, having players who can play multiple positions will be the key to our success,” she added.

Crestview will return to action on Tuesday, as the Lady Knights host Lima Central Catholic in a NWC match-up, starting at 7:30 p.m., and will then travel to Lincolnview for a cross-county league match, starting at 6 p.m.
