WBESC board handles personnel items

WBESC Governing Board news

The Western Buckeye League Educational Service Center Governing Board dealt mostly with personnel matters during its September meeting at the Van Wert ESC office.

The board extended a one-year limited contract to Jessica Wishmeyer as a half-time intervention teacher and half-time paraprofessional at Lincolnview Local Schools, effective this school year, while contacts were also extended to Amanda McDorman as a one-on-one paraprofessional at Antwerp Local Schools and Cheryl Mongold as a part-time one-on-one paraprofessional at Lincolnview.

Working hours for paraprofessionals employed at Antwerp Local Schools were also increased from 6.5 hours to 7 hours a day for the 2013-2014 school year at the request of the school district.

The board also approved out-of-state travel to Angie Bonifas, Nicole Jefferson, Heather Matthews, Jeana Fisher, Marge Greve and Laura Priest to attend the Sensory Diets for Children and Teens workshop in Fort Wayne, Ind., on September 23-24.

The board also employed Pamela Williamson retroactively as a long-term substitute teacher at Antwerp Local Schools, with an effective date of August 19.
