Owen E. Rank

Owen E. Rank, 89, of rural Van Wert, died at 4:56 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born April 20, 1924, in Van Wert, the son of the late William and Orah (Knittle) Rank. On June 16, 1944, he married Mary A. (Gillespie) Rank, who survives.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Kochensparger of Van Wert; two sons, Ronald (Joan) Rank and Roger (Karen) Rank, both of Van Wert; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A brother, Dale Rank; and one sister, Marie Lewis, also preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 13, at Kingsley United Methodist Church, corner of Mendon Road and Ohio 709, with the Rev. Chuck Glover and Pastor Tony Perry officiating.

There will be no calling hours.

Preferred memorials: Kingsley United Methodist Church Building Fund or Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
