Syble Louise Beard

Syble Louise Beard, 77, of Van Wert, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born September 13, 1936, in Osceola, Ark., the daughter of the late John and Dovie Odal (Hopper) Moore. On April 15, 1978, she married Carl Beard, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2004.

Survivors include five children, Randy Moore of Colorado, Jeff (Deb) Looney of Wichita, Kan., Debra (Earl) Bledsoe of Van Wert, Cathy Vance of Gibson City, Ill., and Pamela Santiago of Urbana, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A son, Bruce Looney; one brother, Aaron Moore; and two sisters, Dorothy Howard and Hazel Looney, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 5, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. David Ray officiating. Burial will be in Bellflower Township Cemetery in Bellflower, Ill.

Calling hours are from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
