John K. Linser

John K. Linser, 81, of Van Wert, died at 12:55 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born December 7, 1931, in Van Wert, the son of the late Edward and Berniece (Kennedy) Linser. On August 29, 1952, he married Shirley (Dias) Linser, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include four children, John K. (Brenda) Linser Jr. of Ossian, Ind., Joseph K. Linser of Van Wert, Sheryl (Gary) Morris of Tampa, Fla., and James K. (Sundra) Linser of Loveland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Linser of Gastonia, N.C.

John was a retied employee of Chrysler Corporation. He had served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force and had been a member of the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Military rites will be performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert. Burial will be at a later date in Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be held immediately after the services.
