YMCA announces summer camp sked

The YMCA of Van Wert County’s Summer Camp schedule is out and all ages 6-12 may register.  There is a great list of weekly activities planned, including: “Water Works” (June 13-17); “Float My Boat” (June 20-24); “Fly Me to the Moon” (June 27- July 1); “Active X Sports” (July 11-15); “Water Works 2” (July 18-22);  “Pioneer Adventures” (July 25-29); “Dinosaurs to Dogs” (August 1-5); “Backpack Fun” (August 8-12); “Tag, You’re It” (August 15-19).

These kids enjoy swimming at Lake Rotary on the Camp Clay campus. The activity is just one in store for those who participate in the YMCA's summer camp program. (YMCA photo)

Each camp runs Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The weekly rates are $70 for Van Wert Y members and $110 for potential (non) Y members.  There are a couple price specials; including buy three camps, get the fourth free.  Also, if a Y member brings a potential-member, the potential-member gets the member weekly camp fee.  In order to receive this special, the potential-member must attend with the sponsoring member.

Information about this and other programs available at the Y can be found by calling 419.238.0443, visiting the Y’s new website at www.vwymca.org – where you can also download the flyer for a complete list of camps and field trips, as well as the registration form; or emailing Program Director Mitch Price at mitch@vwymca.org.  Online camp registration is also now available by visiting the Y’s new website.

Each camp includes a great and different field trip.  Parent volunteers are needed for both driving and camp supervision.  If interested, contact Price.  The Van Wert Y is a United Way funded agency.
