M. Joan Burtch

M. Joan Burtch, 83, of Paulding, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born April 11, 1930, in St. Marys, the daughter of the late Edward and Iris (Henschen) Kuns. On August 28, 1949, she married Karl Burtch, who survives.

Other survivors include four sons, David Burtch of Woodland Hills, Calif., Mike (Mary) Burtch of Houston, Texas, Doug (Nancy) Burtch of Paulding and Bill Burtch of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Karla (Mike Griggs) Burtch of Cincinnati, and Joanie (Steve) Goyings of Paulding; a brother, Bill (Nancy) Kuns of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Janice Fernow of Clearwater, Fla., and Sally Harper of LaJunta, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paulding, with the Rev. Karen Stetins officiating. Burial will be in Wiltsie Cemetery in Payne.

Calling hours are from 2:30-8 p.m. Friday, October 11, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
