Mary E. (Hoffman) Keith

Mary Elizabeth (Hoffman) Keith, 92, of Van Wert, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born January 28, 1921, in Middlebury, the daughter of the late Henry William and Jessie Almina (Bolenbaugh) Hoffman. In June 1957, she married Milo Jacob Keith, who preceded her in death on September 24, 1986.

Survivors include a son, Harold Chaney of Manitou Beach, Mich.; one daughter, Connie (Don) Cowgill of Findlay; three stepchildren, Milo (Helen) Keith of New Knoxville, Mary Ellen White of New Bremen and Dave (Linda) Keith of Jefferson City, Mo.; a brother, Gaylord (Doris) Hoffman of Celina; one sister, Gladys Agler of Ohio City; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 26 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

A son, Donald L. Chaney; two deceased grandchildren; a stepson, Robert Keith; one deceased stepgrandchild; one deceased stepgreat-grandchild; and four brothers, Harold, Wayne, Clarence and Clifford Hoffman, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
