Knight boys 3rd, girls 4th at NWC meet

The Crestview High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed in the Northwest Conference championships at Van Wert County Hospital on Saturday.

The Boys team raced to a third place finish in the NWC.  Mycah Grandstaff was the individual meet champion in a time of 16:36 in an exciting finish. He earned the honor of first team All NWC with his victory.

He was followed by teammate Charles Thornburg, who also garnered a first team All NWC honor with his fifth place finish.  Branden Clayton was 10th, earning NWC honorable mention honors. Those runners were followed by Bryce Richardson in 14th and Adam Saylor, who was 25th.

The girls’ team placed fourth in the conference meet. Brooke Ripley led the way for the Lady Knights with a 10th place NWC honorable mention finish. She was followed by Hali Finfrock in 11th, Chelsea Hancock in 22nd, Meghan Sherman (25th) and Vicki Callow (31st).

Both squads will compete next Saturday afternoon in the Ottawa district cross country meet.
