More info released on county burglary
Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office information
Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach announced Wednesday that deputies have developed additional information on the Pleasant Township residential burglary that occurred Tuesday morning. This new information was developed while working with Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart’s deputies and also Hardin County prosecutors, who are investigating similar burglaries.

Sheriff Riggenbach said the woman suspect who approached a Pleasant Township resident, identified herself as a power company employee and said work needed to be done on the property later in the day. During the conversation, the woman suspect kept the resident’s attention away from the house, allowing a male suspect to enter the home, where he stole money and property.
Sheriff Riggenbach released a description of the male suspect, a photo of a vehicle deputies are trying to identify, and a photo of a male person of interest deputies are trying to identify.
Sheriff Riggenbach said the male suspect is described as white, skinny build in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with short, light colored hair.
The pickup is described as a red full-size Ford F-150, with silver along the bottom of both sides of the truck. The truck has a white/silver toolbox on the bed of the truck and a bug deflector on the front of the truck.
Sheriff Riggenbach also updated the description of the woman suspect, who is described as white, in her early 20s, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 115-120 pounds, with short sandy hair and wearing a bandana.
Sheriff Riggenbach is asking anyone who recognizes or sees this pickup truck or recognizes the male in the photos to contact the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office or Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.
Those reporting information can remain anonymous.
