Marjorie J. Walters
Marjorie A. Walters of Green Valley, Ariz., passed away quietly on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, after a brief illness.
She was born September 24, 1923, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Ira L. Acheson and Myrtle M. Hunstead. On May 25, 1948, she married Sumner J. Walters, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2001.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Sumner E. Walters and Cheryl D. Walters of Green Valley, Ariz., and Port Clinton; by three grandchildren, Cailin W. Bouchelle of Glen Mills, Pa., Eliot S. Walters of Lima and Nicholas D. Walters and his wife, Corin, of Phoenix, Ariz..
A brother, Maurice R. Acheson; and one sister, Elizabeth A. Reber, also preceded her in death.
Before retiring to Arizona, Mrs. Walters had been very active in her home community of Van Wert, serving on many boards and committees. She was an active and lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, and after moving to Arizona, affiliated with Valley Presbyterian Church in Green Valley. She enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends in both Van Wert and Green Valley.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life at Valley Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 26. Her remains will be interred with her husband in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert at a later date.
No visitation is planned.
