Robert P. Tempel

Robert P. Tempel, 85, of Payne, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at his residence.

He was born July 12, 1928, in Paulding, the son of the late Rubert and Esther (Beamer) Tempel. On September 2, 1950, he married Marlene (Harting) Tempel, who survives.

Other survivors include six children, Tom (Kim Waldschmidt) Tempel of Fort Wayne, Ind., Judy (Dwight) Redmon of Napoleon, Bobbi (Todd) Champany and Jeff (Sheila) Tempel, both of Payne, Dan (Deb) Tempel of New Haven, Ind., and Amy (Brad) Yenser of Payne; a sister, Jean Zartman of Payne; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Paulding. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery in Payne, with military rites performed.

Calling hours are from 3-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, with a vigil planned for 7:30 that evening, and from 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dooley Funeral Home in Payne.

Preferred memorials: Masses at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Paulding or Paulding Hospice.
