Lola Mae Holmes

Lola Mae Holmes, 83, of Van Wert, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Convoy.

She was born June 17, 1930, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late William S. and Elsie May (Speelman) Morehead. On January 25, 1949, she married Walter Holmes, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, David (Sandra) Holmes of Traverse City, Mich.; one daughter, Brenda (Herbert) Tamplin of Bellefontaine; a brother, William (Betty) Morehead of Va Wert; five grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; a great-grandson; two stepgreat-grandsons; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Morehead of Convoy and Lela Holmes of Van Wert.

A grandson, Andrew Holmes; and one brother, Paul Morehead, also preceded her in death.

Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.

There will be no visitation.

Preferred memorials: Miami Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
