Two people appeared for hearings Wednesday on a light day in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.

Jordan Vickery, 30, of Middle Point, pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of identity theft, all felonies of the fifth degree. He was ordered held on a $50,000 bond, with 10 percent of that amount to be paid in cash, and a pretrial conference was scheduled for 8 a.m. Wednesday, November 27.

Also in court on Wednesday was Bethany Wreath, 23, of Van Wert, who changed her plea from not guilty to guilty on one count each of trafficking in drugs, a felony of the fourth degree (reduced from a third-degree felony), and trafficking in a counterfeit substance, a fifth-degree felony offense.

As part of a plea negotiation, two counts of drug trafficking were dismissed in exchange for her guilty plea.

Judge Charles D. Steele ordered a presentence investigation in the case and scheduled sentencing for 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014.

The judge also released Wreath, who had been held without bond, on electronically monitored house arrest.
