Larry Lee Giessler

Larry Lee Giessler, 79, of Van Wert, died at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born August 2, 1934, in Van Wert, the son of Merline Smith and Esther Giessler, and adopted and raised by his grandparents, Adam and Rosena (Klein) Giessler. On July 22, 1972, he married Paula M. (Coleman) Giessler, who survives.

Other survivors include a son, Adam G. Giessler of Columbus; one daughter, Alisha R. (Charles) Buchanan of Westerville; one grandson; three half-sisters, Candy Arney and Marcia Bangs, both of California, and Merna Miller of Nevada; a sister-in-law, Kathy (Gregg) Perry of Hoagland, Ind.; and one brother-in-law, Ron (Linda) Coleman of Ocala, Fla.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 25, at Grace Bible Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Lance Hostetler officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military honors performed by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 1-6 p.m. at Grace Bible Church on Airport Avenue in Van Wert.
