Kenneth L. Smith Jr.

Kenneth L. “Skip” Smith Jr., 86, of Van Wert, died at 7:29 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born June 10, 1927, in Cedar Grove, W.Va., the son of the late Kenneth L. “KL” and Arlie (Morris) Smith. He married Marvin “Marv” (Wood) Smith, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two children, Kenneth L. (Maureen) Smith III and Pamela Smith, both of Van Wert; a sister, Betty Jo James of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A brother, Clayborn Smith, also preceded him in death.

Private family funeral services will be conducted at a later date.

There will be no calling hours.

Preferred memorials: First Baptist Church in Van Wert or Brumback Library in Van Wert.
