Delphos PD busts pot-growing operation

DELPHOS — While seeking to serve a warrant on an unnamed Delphos resident in a local trailer court, police there discovered a marijuana growing operation at the residence.
Delphos police went to a residence at 227 W. Clime St., Lot 19, seeking to serve a warrant on a resident of the home. While inside the mobile home, officers smelled what they believed to be marijuana. They then secured the residence, with assistance from the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department, and obtained a search warrant.
Delphos police and members of the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force served the warrant at approximately 10:26 p.m. Monday. Found inside the residence were a small quantity of suspected dried marijuana, a large quantity of what is believed to be drug paraphernalia, items and equipment consistent with a marijuana growing operation and a small quantity of live plants believed to be marijuana.
At this time, no formal charges have been filed, pending review by the Van Wert County Prosecutor’s Office.
