CONVOY — The Crestview Knights looked like a No. 1-rated team, as the Knights started fast and ended with a scoring spurt in beating Shawnee 67-45 in a non-conference boys’ basketball game played at Crestview on Tuesday.

The Knights led by 10 points, 20-10, after one quarter of play and stretched that lead to 15 points, 37-22, at the half. Shawnee got a basket back to trail by 13 points, 47-34, but Crestview outscored the Indians 20-11 in the final quarter for the lopsided victory.

The Knights had balanced scoring with four players in double figures, led by Damian Helm’s 15 points. Cam Etzler scored 13 points, while Connor Lautzenheiser and Tyson Bolenbaugh each had 11 points for Crestview.

Jaden O’Neal was Shawnee’s top scorer, with 10 points, while Angelo Fox added 9 points for the Indians.

With the win, the Knights move to 13-0 on the season, while Shawnee is now 5-9 overall.

Crestview will host a Northwest Conference game Friday against the Paulding Panthers on Friday and then travel to Celina for a non-conference game against another Western Buckeye League school on Saturday.
