Doris E. Ley

Doris E. Ley, 83, of Syracuse, Ind., and formerly of Van Wert, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014, at her residence.

She was born February 2, 1930, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Lawrence and F. Marie (Adams) Edwards. She married Dr. Dean E. Ley, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2013.

Survivors include a son, Devin K. Ley of Elkhart, Ind.

A daughter-in-law, Mikki Ley; one brother, Kenneth Edwards; and a sister, Dorothy Jean Edwards, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 6, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Hal Shafer officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, February 5, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Children’s Fund at First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert.
