John R. Pfost

John R. Pfost, 83, of Scott, died at 11:51 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

He was born December 15, 1930, in Scott, the son of the late Laurence N. and Edna A. (Mohr) Pfost. On August 11, 1950, he married LaDonna (Saylor) Pfost, who survives in Scott.

Other survivors include three children, William G. (Nancy) Pfost, David M. Pfost and Betty K. Pfost, all of Scott; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Howard, David and Edward Pfost; and three sisters, Lelia Pfost, Aleda Mazza and Bonnie Dayan, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mohr Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, at the funeral home.
