Wassenberg plans after-school art classes
Wassenberg Art Center information
In conjunction with Van Wert City Schools the Wassenberg Art Center will launch a weekly, after school art program every Thursday, beginning on March 6, for students ages 7-12 years at the Wassenberg Art Center, 214 S. Washington St.
Students will be met by Wassenberg Art Center staff at the bus stop located at the S.F. Goedde Building on West Crawford Street and taken to the nearby art center, where they will receive a snack in addition to art instruction.
Instruction will be led by professional art educator Diane Bendele who earned her bachelors degree in art education from Bowling Green State University and her master’s degree in education from Ohio State University. As an art educator for 35 years, she has worked with students of all ages in the traditional classroom setting as well as the online classroom. Bendele has also organized student art exhibits, and served as judge for art shows.
She has been commissioned to create interior and exterior murals and has exhibited her work at Delphos Area Art Guild shows, the American Gallery of Sylvania, Bowling Green State University, the Delphos Postal Museum, and Art Space Lima. Bendele works in acrylic and oil paints as well in fibers and concrete sculptures.
Cost of the program for a four-week session is $30 for Wassenberg Art Center members, and $35 for non-members. Those interested may call the art center to register or register online at www.wassenbergartcenter.org/programs-classes.htm. An enrollment form will also be distributed through the schools.
