VWPD seeks owners of stolen property

The Van Wert Police Department is looking for the owner of property recovered during theft investigations.

City police investigated several theft-related incidents and property was recovered during the investigations. However, owners of the property recovered have not been located.

Anyone who had property come up missing between October 2011 and May 2013 and would like to recover that property should call Lt. Doug Weigle at 419.238.2462. Those with missing property will have to provide a detailed description of the property to claim it.

By law, the police department must hold recovered property for 90 days. After that period, items can be auctioned off online at http://govdeals.com.
