Rockford to have sand volleyball league

ROCKFORD — The Rockford Recreation Association is excited to once again broaden the opportunities available to its community members that promote healthy and active lifestyles.

As youth programs continue to thrive throughout the summer and fall months, the association is excited to expand its programming for the first time to include organized activities for adults! This summer, the Rockford Recreation Association will be hosting an adult coed sand volleyball power league that will be played Sunday evenings at Shanes Park throughout June and July.

Last fall, the old asphalt volleyball court located north of the log cabin was transformed into a sand court with new poles scheduled to be installed this spring.

The cost to register a team for the 2014 sand volleyball league is $75 and t-shirts will be awarded to the league champions.
