David L. Raines Sr.

David L. Raines Sr., 63, of Van Wert, died Thursday morning, March 20, 2014, at his residence.

He was born June 30, 1950, the son of the late Rad Raines Sr. and Myrtle (Howard) Raines. On August 6, 1988, he married Barbara (Pease) Raines, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include three children, Philip D. (Areena) Raines Sr., Aderian Raines and Monica Raines, all of Van Wert; three brothers, John (Mary) Raines of Lima, Ralph Raines and Johnnie Patrick, both of Van Wert; five sisters, Maggie Knittle of Van Wert, Teresa King of Lima, Goldie (Craig) Fleming of Pensacola, Fla., Nina (Burl) Gibson of Elida, and Connie (Kevin) Casey of Lima; three sisters-in-law, Marlene Raines and Nellie Raines, both of Lima, and Stella Raines of Van Wert; and five grandchildren.

A son, David L. Raines; and three brothers, Buddy, James and Rad Raines Jr., also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
