Mercer County makes 54 stops, 3 arrests

CELINA — Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced his office and the Grand Lake Task Force conducted an eight-hour drug interdiction operation on March 27. A K-9 unit from Celina Police Department assisted deputies.
Deputies made 54 traffic stops during the operation and issued traffic citations, 46 written warnings, and eight verbal warnings.
Deputies also searched five vehicles and one residence and issued four misdemeanor citations (two for possession of marijuana, and two for possession of drug paraphernalia).
Deputies traveled 996 miles. Traffic citations included operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI), speed, driving under suspension, and child restraints.
Those arrested included:
- James E. Pinson, 32, of Celina, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, and driving under suspension (non-compliance). After a K-9 alert, deputies searched the vehicle Pinson was driving and found suspected heroin. Additional charges are being considered.
- Kevin J. Greenburg, 26, of St. Marys, was charged with driving under suspension.
- Savannah Thees, 26, of Celina, was arrested on a probation violation from Auglaize County. She was turned over to authorities in that county.
