A total of 11 people appeared for hearings in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court, and two of those were sent to prison after probation violations.

Alexandra Whisman, 20, of Van Wert, was sentenced to an 11-month prison term for violating her probation by leaving an in-house drug treatment program without permission from her probation officer. However, because Judge Charles D. Steele also gave Whisman credit for 294 days already served, her net prison sentence will be a little over a month.

Desma Chesbro, 22, of Van Wert, also received a prison term after admitting she violated her probation by failing to report to her probation officer and by not completing treatment at Westwood Behavioral Health Center.

Judge Steele also gave Chesbro credit for 132 days served, essentially cutting her prison time to about two months.

Another person was resentenced to community control after admitting he violated his earlier probation term.

Casey McMillen, 29, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his probation by failing to report to his probation officer and was resentenced to a new three-year term of community control, plus 10 days jail time, with work release. McMillen was also given credit for six days already served, reducing his jail term to four days.

Alisha Stemen, 22, of Van Wert, denied violating her probation and a hearing will be scheduled in the near future on the allegations.

Two people were also sentenced on Wednesday.

Robert Seibert, 27, of Van Wert, was given three years of community control on charges of possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony, and a fifth-degree heroin possession count. A specification was included with the first possession charge that he used a 1993 Honda automobile in the commission of that offense, and the vehicle was ordered forfeited to law enforcement. Seibert’s driver’s license was also suspended for six months.

Adam Partin, 21, of Delphos, was also sentenced to three years of community control, with up to six months in the Western Ohio Regional Treatment and Habilitation (WORTH) Center in Lima, on a charge of possession of cocaine, a felony of the fifth degree. His driver’s license was also ordered suspended for six months.

Four people also changed their pleas from guilty to not guilty during hearings held Wednesday in Common Pleas Court, with three of them also granted treatment in lieu of conviction.

Grant Albright, 37, of Van Wert, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a felony of the fifth degree. He was then granted a request for treatment in lieu of treatment.

Tristan Boaz, 22, of Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to three counts of forgery, each a fifth-degree felony. She also was granted treatment in lieu of conviction.

Angela Kennedy, 28, of Van Wert, entered guilty pleas to two counts of trafficking in marijuana, each a felony of the fifth degree. She then requested, and was granted, treatment in lieu of conviction.

Dirk Russell, 34, of Van Wert, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted corrupting another with drugs, a felony of the third degree, which was reduced from a second-degree felony count of corrupting another with drugs. A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 14.

William L. Smith, 37, of Delphos, also appeared for a judicial release hearing. He was ordered released from prison and placed on community control for three years, with up to six months spent in the WORTH Center.
