Alta D. McConn

Alta D. McConn, 91, of Van Wert, died at 6:36 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born November 9, 1922, in Riverview, the daughter of the late Edward and Della (Smith) Coss. On March 14, 1943, she married Richard L. McConn, who preceded her in death on April 25, 2000.

Survivors include four sons, Gary McConn of Van Wert, Charles (Robin) McConn of Ohio City, and Richard (Anita) McConn and Terry (Beth) McConn, both of Ossian, Ind.; two sisters, Alice Myers of Milan, Mich., and Lucille Cisar of McMechen, W.Va.; one brother, Robert (Patricia) Coss of Bridgeport (Ohio); 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A grandson, Nathan McConn; one daughter-in-law, Janet McConn; and sisters Wilma Crook and Nell Caruth, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Randy Bevington officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the funeral home.
