More extended days for Knights

By Jamie Moore

The fourth quarter is in full swing and the Knights are working on making up school days through extra half an hour extensions. The extensions won’t be finished until about mid-May, so the last weeks should go by really fast for the students and staff.

The first two track meets for the girls and the first for the boys were canceled last week. But finally the boys track team started their season with Versailles this last weekend. The  4×800 meter relay placed 6th with a time of 9:21:54 minutes, 4×200 placed third with the time of 1:36:51 minutes, 4×100 meters also placed third with a time of 46.88 seconds. Isaiah Kline placed eighth in the 400 meter with the time of 56.7 seconds, Zach Jellison placed 5th in the 200meter run with the time 24.27 seconds, Mycah Grandstaff placed first in the 3200meter run with a personal record score of 9.47.14 minutes, Malcolm Oliver placed second in long jump with the jump of 18 feet 3 ½ inches. The team finished 8th overall.

There will be a blood drive on Monday April 14, at Crestview High School from 9-6 p.m. and there will be sign-up sheet in the office for timing and scheduling. Once again, the Crestview chapter of National Honor Society will be running this worthwhile event. “The best part about donating is knowing that you are saving lives,” said senior Jon Young.

Grace Callow, Riley Guest and Danielle Joseph received student of the month from the Elks.

Crestview’s own Chelsea Hancock won Peony Queen last weekend and also took home the “Miss Congeniality” award. Hancock’s talent routine on the Celtic harp was definitely a highlight of the night.  The Peony Festival will be held on June 6-8.
