1 hurt in traffic crash in Paulding County

ANTWERP — The Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an injury accident that occurred late Sunday night on Paulding County Road 230, near County Road 105.

According to troopers, a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Janice S. Carlisle, 53, of Cecil, was headed east on County Road 230 when Carlisle lost control of the car on a curve. The car then went off the left side of the road, struck a traffic sign, cross County Road 105 and struck a ditch before coming to rest in a field.

Carlisle was taken to Paulding County Hospital by Antwerp EMS. According to the Patrol, Carlisle was not wearing her seatbelt, which could have lessened her injuries.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Crane Township Fire Department, Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and Gideon’s Wrecker Service.
