Crestview senior headed to West Point

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Bob Latta (R-Ohio) recognized and congratulated seven students from Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District on their acceptance to one of the U.S. Military Service Academies during an event held Sunday in Bowling Green.

The area students, which include Crestview senior Kameron Grubaugh, were nominated by Latta and have received offers of appointment for the Class of 2018 at their respective schools. Grubaugh is one of two students who be attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

“It is an honor to have had the opportunity to nominate these students to the U.S. Military Service Academies,” said Latta. “They should each be commended for their significant contributions to their communities, their academic achievements, and their dedication and willingness to serve our country. I look forward to recognizing their accomplishments on Sunday and congratulating them on achieving this milestone.”

In addition to Grubaugh, other students accepted, and their respective academy selection, are as follows:

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. – Thomas Heckman, Toledo Bowsher High School; Evan Ulinski, Woodmore High School; and John Wendt, Sylvania Northview High School.

U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. – Jason Hug, Bryan High School.

U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. – Olivia Bair, Findlay High School; and Bryant Schlade, Napoleon High School.
