Crestview boys, girls 2nd at quad meet

CONVOY — The Crestview track and field teams hosted their final home meet of the regular season, with both the Knight boys and girls finishing second out of four teams.
Wayne Trace won the boys’ meet with 76 points, while Crestview was right behind with 74.5 points. Delphos St. John’s was third with 52.83 points, while Paulding finished fourth with 48.66 points.
The Lady Blue Jays were first in the girls’ meet, with 80 points, while Crestview finished as runner-up with 56.5 points. The Lady Raiders were third with 55 points, while Paulding was fourth with 49.5 points.
First-place finishers for Crestview boys are as follows:
- Copsey Bogle, 110-meter hurdles, 17.90 seconds.
- 4×200-meter relay team (Hansard, Kline, Oliver, Jellison), 1:37.15.
- Mycah Grandstaff, 1600-meter run, 4:45.92
- 4×100-meter relay team (Schaffner, Kline, Jellison, Oliver), 45.50 seconds.
- Isaiah Kline, 400-meter dash, 53.67 seconds.
- Zack Jellison, 200-meter dash, 24.52 seconds.
- Malcolm Oliver, long jump, 19 feet, 1.5 inches.
First-place finishers for the Lady Knights are as follows:
- Grace Callow, 100-meter dash, 13.97 seconds; and 400-meter dash, 1:05.43.
- Bekka Tracey, shotput, 30 feet, 11.5 inches.
It was the final home meet for 12 Crestview seniors and parents and friends joined together to recognize the student-athletes on their track and field successes prior to the meet.
The Crestview boys’ and girls’ track teams will both return action this Friday for a meet at South Adams (Ind.) High School in Berne, Ind. The Knights will then compete next week in the Northwest Conference track meet at Spencerville High School.
