Hickory Sticks sr. golfers hold tourney

Hickory Sticks senior golfers opened their 2014 season with a four-man scramble tournament.

Finishing in first place with a sizzling 11-under-par 61 were Ed Jacobs, Carlyle Grove, Mike Martin and Mike Parsons. Taking second place with a super 62 was a team comprised of Brent Crone, Gerry Knapke, Bernie Scott and John Axson.

In third place with a 7-under-par 65 were Wayne Moore, Bill Fallis and Roger Ladd, while fourth place went to Greg Edsall, Randy Apple, Charlie Purmort and Don Carter, who shot a 68 on the day.

Additional senior tournaments will be held on Tuesdays, with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. Interested players may sign up in the pro shop or by calling Michelle White at 419.238.0441. Several popular joint senior events will be held with Willow Bend Country Club members at later dates on both golf courses.
