Fast earns OSU McCormick Scholarship

COLUMBUS — Emily Fast of Van Wert has been awarded the Francis McCormick Scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Fast, daughter of Mark and Lori Fast, is a junior at The Ohio State University majoring in agribusiness and applied economics. She is a member of the Agribusiness Club and Agricultural Systems Management Club and also volunteers at the Ohio FFA State Convention.
Fast is a 2011 graduate of Van Wert High School and works at JD Equipment in London. This summer she will work for the Ohio Department of Agriculture as a marketing intern and plans to pursue a career within the farm equipment industry after graduation.
The Francis McCormick Scholarship, open to agribusiness and applied economics majors at Ohio State, is awarded on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and potential contribution to the agricultural industry. It is one of several scholarships made available by agribusiness firms, individuals, and agricultural organizations for students interested in agribusiness, farm finance, agricultural marketing, farm management, and closely related areas.
