Howard Dailey Jones

Howard Dailey Jones, 85, of Ohio City, died at 10:06 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, shortly after arrival at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born July 1, 1928, in Willshire Township, the son of the late Clarence Clyde and Ada (Fluckiger) Jones. On September 3, 1950, he married Joan Marie (Clark) Jones, who survives in Ohio City.

Other survivors include four sons, Brent L. Jones of Van Wert, Douglas C. Jones of Ohio City, Keith H. (Marilyn) Jones of Atlanta, Michigan, and David C. (Rose) Jones of Van Wert; a brother, Leon B. (Joyce) Jones of Defiance; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; one aunt, Florine Fluckiger; three sisters-in-law, Martha Jones of Ohio City, Marjorie Jones of Dublin and Lois Schoonover of Van Wert; and number nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Five brothers, Paul Eugene Jones, Daniel Clyde Jones, Floyd D. Jones, Lloyd S. Jones and Harold Harry Jones; and three sisters, Wilma Josephine Myers, Madge Marcile Jones and Pauline Kathryn Jones, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Grace Bible Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Lance Hostetler and Pastor Keith Jones (Howard’s son) officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Grace Bible Church or Wren EMS.
