Local athletes do well at state track meet

COLUMBUS — Several local high school track and field athletes did well this past weekend at the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s State Track Meet held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University.
Top finishers who also earned All-Ohio honors include Crestview’s Mycah Grandstaff, who earned a third-place finish in the Division IV 3200-meter run with a school-record time of 9:31.57 – breaking his own record of 9.38.38 – while the Knight 4×100-meter relay team (Malcolm Oliver, Sage Schaffner, Zach Jellison and Isaiah Kline also finished third in their race with a time of 43.86 seconds.
Lincolnview’s Bayley Tow finished sixth in the 1,600-meter run in the Division IV race in a time of 4:24.61, while Van Wert’s Alexis Dowdy was fourth in the shotput in Division II with a throw of 42 feet, 3¼ inches.
Cougar Nick Krugh was seventh in the 200-meter dash in Division II with a time of 22.53 seconds, and Seth Saylor of Wayne Trace finished sixth in the 300-meter hurdles.
Finishing just out of the running for All-Ohio honors was Raider Arlen Stoller, who was ninth in the 1600-meter run in Division III.
