Leona Mae Amburgey

Leona Mae Amburgey, 81, of Willshire, died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Colonial Nursing Center in Rockford, where she had been a patient.

She was born November 23, 1929, in Chattanooga, Ohio, the daughter of the late Roy and Goldie (Bollenbacher) Luginbill. On December 25, 1958, she married Everette D. Amburgey, who preceded her in death on July 14, 1975.

Survivors include two daughters, Rita Amburgey and Nita (Randy) Habegger, both of Willshire; two brothers, Vernon Luginbill of Decatur, Ind., and Dean (Helen) Luginbill of Rockford; two sisters, Norma Jean (Charles) Fuson of Celina and Mary Luginbill of Chattanooga; and two grandchildren.

A brother, Kenny Luginbill, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Richard Larimore officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 28, and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
