Carlos E. Waltz

Carlos E. Waltz, 94, of Van Wert, died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Hearth and Home in Van Wert.

He was born September 19, 1919, in Van Wert, the son of the late Perry O. and Hazel E. (Haver) Waltz. He married Joan E. Waltz, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include a daughter, Barb J. (Ron) Owens of Venedocia; six stepchildren, Alice (Roger) Knueve of Convoy, Juanita (Jack Brand) Flyler of Van Wert, Linda Gaddis of Louisville, Kentucky, Cheryl (Randy) Frey of Terre Haute, Indiana, Barbara (Doug) Wellhausen of Pearland, Texas, and James (Laura) Gaddis of West Minster, California; two brothers, Cloyd P. (Jean) Waltz and Bernard E. Waltz, both of Van Wert; a sister, Ursula Chapman of La Canada, California; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A sister, Eloise Ross; and one grandchild, also preceded him in death.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Preferred memorials: Community Health Professionals-Hospice.
