Time to get your Fair entry forms

By Rex Dolby

The Wassenberg Camera Club’s next meeting is Thursday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center. “Wildlife” is the competition theme in prints and slides that evening as well as having a makeup competition in slides only for Night Photography. Of additional interest, there will be a session on Low Light Photography presented by Tracy Sterling and Will Hawkins.

Fair time will be here sooner than you might expect, especially, if you are considering placing photos in the photography exhibit. You may enter 5 pictures in either the senior or junior (any youth under age 18 before Aug. 1, 2014) divisions in color and black and white. That’s a total of 10 different entries. You can’t manipulate a picture and enter it in both color and black and white.

Classes for this year are: At the Fair, Flowers, Reflections, Around the Farm, and Special Effects. You will need to obtain an entry form at the Van Wert County Fair Ground Office and return it to the fair board office by noon on Saturday, Aug. 9. You should record all the pictures you think you might enter. There is no penalty for not entering a classes at check in time, but you will not be allowed to enter a classes not listed on your entry form.
