Bernard J. Reindel

Bernard J. Reindel, 84, of Delphos, died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.

He was born March 2, 1930, in Delphos, the son of the late Alfred and Florence (Carter) Reindel. On April 21, 1951, he married Norma Rose (Beining) Reindel, who preceded him in death on June 15, 1994.

Mr. Reindel was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. He also belonged to Knights of Columbus Council 1362 and Eagles Aerie 471, both in Delphos. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.

Survivors include five daughters, Roxann (Louis) Bonifas of Columbus Grove, Karen (Rick) Bruns of Woodburn, Indiana, Donna (Craig) Burkholder of Lima, Margie (Greg) Basinger of Columbus Grove, and Mary (Stephan) Hodgson of Mansfield; four sons, Louis (Barb) Reindel of Bradford, Larry (Amy) Reindel and Robert (Vicki) Reindel, both of Delphos, and Thomas Reindel of Spencerville; a son-in-law, Pat Ryan of Arizona; and two brothers-in-law, Ken Bryan and Tom Grubenhoff.

A daughter, Kathleen Ryan; one grandson, Cody Basinger; and three sisters, Imogene Elwer, Avian Bryan and Virginia Grubenhoff, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at a later date, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos.

There will be no calling hours.

Preferred memorials: American Cancer Society.

Arrangements were handled by Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos.
