Edna Mae ‘Daisy’ Creel
Edna Mae “Daisy” Creel, 89, of Van Wert, and formerly of Anderson, Alabama, died at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born May 29, 1925, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Henry William and Grace Adeline (Magoto) Stutz. On May 1, 1954, she married she married Henry Lee Creel, who preceded her in death on October 10, 1987.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Robin M. Creel of Montgomery, Michigan; three stepsons, Jack, Tom and Robert Creel; two brothers, John Stutz of Venedocia and Danny (Carol) Stutz of Van Wert; three sisters, Ruth Topp of New Bremen, and Pearl (Warren) Mason and Judy Lewis, both of Van Wert; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Jeffrey H. Creel (June 22, 2012); two brothers, Bill Stutz and Bobby Joe Stutz; and three sisters, Gertrude Topp, Tudi Miller and Betty Shertzer, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 18, at Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Anderson, Alabama, with the Rev. Charles Hood officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Anderson.
Calling hours are from 1-3 p.m. Friday, August 15, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and from 9-11 a.m. Monday at Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Anderson, Alabama.
