2014 Convoy Community Days Parade — “Winning State of Mind” will be the theme for the 2014 Convoy Community Days Parade.  This year’s grand marshals will be the Crestview boys’ basketball team that won Crestview’s first Division IV state championship in school history. The 2014 team was undefeated and AP No. 1 ranked.  Parade line-up will be at 1 p.m. at Edgewood Park, with the parade to start at 2 that afternoon and travel down Main Street, to East Tully Street and end at Crestview Local Schools. Visit villageofconvoy.com for registration forms.

Convoy’s Got Talent — 3:30 p.m. in the downtown parking lot.  Lots of local talent will be shared on stage with emcee Pastor Mike Saylor.  Bring lawn chairs and enjoy the show.

Ultimate Frisbee Tournament — To be held at Edgewood Park. To enter a team, email a contact name and phone number to villageofconvoy@bright.net.

Lions Club Bingo — 6-9 p.m. in the building. Bring a friend or two.

A new event, the Dead Sprint, is a .5-mile, non-competitive family friendly walk/run (think “Walking Dead Zombie” pace, not “World War Z”). The event is open to kids of all ages and will start at 7pm beginning at Crestview High School and finishing downtown Convoy. Come dressed as a zombie and/or get you’re faced painted to look the part before the event.

Following the walk, there will be an outdoor movie showing downtown, featuring a zombie-themed cartoon for kids and a classic for adults. Bring lawn chairs. Organizers ask for a donation of $5 and a non-perishable canned good or microwave-safe single serving food container to support the local food bank and Loves of Love program. Participants will receive reusable goodie bags stuffed with treats and coupons for discounts at local businesses.

Movies in the Parking Lot— following the Dead Sprint.

Reverse Raffle will be held at The Tavern in downtown Convoy, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at The Tavern, Secret Garden Flowers & Gifts, and the Convoy Village Office.
