Wren organization to have chicken BBQ

Wren Christmas Society information

WREN — The Wren Christmas Society is selling tickets for chicken dinners to be served Saturday, October 18. Gibson’s Barnyard BBQ will prepare the food, which will include half a chicken, green beans, cheesy potatoes and a roll. Meals are by pre-sale tickets only.

Tickets are $8 each and are available for purchase now from any Wren Christmas Society member.

Dinners will be available for pick-up at the WCS building at the Wren Ballpark between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. October 18. The money raised will be used to pay for electricity for the Christmas lights this holiday season.

In other WCS news, the Christmas decorations will be put up in Wren on Saturday, November 15, and the official lighting ceremony will be held Saturday, November 29, at dark (approximately 6 p.m.).

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in Wren at the Santa Shack at the corner of Ohio 49 and Jackson Street on Saturday, December 13, and Friday and Saturday, December 19-20, from 6 to 8 p,m.  Carriage rides, hot chocolate and cookies will be available during Santa hours.

The Society will also be sponsoring an Outside Home Display Contest again this year within a 3-mile radius of Wren. For more information, contact Karen at 419.495.2623.
