Knight boy, girl runners defeat LCC

LIMA — The Crestview girls’ and boys’ cross country teams both won over Lima Central Catholic in races held at Lima’s Faurot Park on Tuesday.

The girls’ team defeated LCC 24-35, with the Lady Knights placing seven runners in the top 10 places to claim the win. Ashley Bowen finished second overall, while Leslie Skelton was third, Matteson Watts fifth, Hali Finfrock sixth, Brooke Ripley eighth, Nevada Smith ninth and Vicki Callow 10th.

The Crestview boys defeated LCC by a score of 23 to 34. The Knights had five runners in the top seven places of the race.

Mycah Grandstaff finished first, while Charles Thornburg was fourth, Branden Clayton fifth, Zach Jellison sixth, Adam Saylor seventh, Caleb Bagley 10th and Gabe Smith 11th.
