VW Home & Business Expo this weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend? The Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce’s Home and Business Expo is scheduled for today and Saturday, April 1-2, at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds. Admission and parking are free, so don’t hesitate to stop by and visit with an array of local businesses, and also grab a bite to eat and enjoy the entertainment. The Expo will be open today from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

“It’s going to be an exciting event,” said Chamber President Kate Gribble. “We encourage area residents to make it a fun and budget-friendly weekend by attending the Home and Business Expo. We have a lot planned, so there is something for everyone to enjoy!”
The Chamber Home and Business Expo will feature a wide variety of exhibitors and events with both indoor and outdoor displays. In addition to touching base with local businesses, guests will have the opportunity to sign up for drawings and grab a bite to eat while they enjoy the festivities (click here for a site map of the event).
WERT Radio will be broadcasting live on-site throughout the event and will also be interviewing representatives of the various businesses participating in the Expo. There will be clowns and kids events as well as plenty to see for adults of all ages.
Today at 6 p.m., the Van Wert Police Department will conduct a K-9 demonstration, while Johnny, the Fort Wayne (Ind.) TinCaps mascot, will make an appearance at 6:30 this evening.
On Saturday, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., there will be an array of events taking place. Lutheran Air Life Flight Helicopter and Mobile ISU demonstration will be available for area residents to see, while the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department will be offering free Child Safety IDs. There will also be balloon art and face painting available for children.
“The Home and Business Expo is win-win event. Area businesses have the opportunity to connect with community residents and attendees are offered an affordable and exciting event,” said Gribble. “It’s a great weekend to be in Van Wert.”
