Howard E. Hubert

Howard E. Hubert, 65, of Van Wert, died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, December 25, 2014, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born August 21, 1949, in Defiance, the son of Howard H. and Martha (Burk) Hubert, who both preceded him in death. On July 7, 2012, he married Tina (Pease) Hubert, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two daughters, Amber Hubert of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Amanda (Jason) Gilbert of Hicksville; five stepchildren, Lois Moulton and Robin (K.C. Kerns) Moulton, both of Van Wert, Karen (Jonathan McMichael) Moulton of Convoy, Dale (Chelsea Foster) Moulton of Middle Point and Donald (Kerri Boyd) Moulton of Scott; a sister, Tina (Oscar) Silver of Versailles; and 18 grandchildren.

A sister, Janet Rahrig, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with military honors performed by the combined units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Blue Creek Cemetery in Haviland.

Calling hours are from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
