Hammond wins title, VW 11th at tourney

DUBLIN — The Van Wert High School varsity wrestlers competed on Saturday, January 3, at the Kevin Cleveland Memorial Tournament in Dublin.
The VWHS team (Division III) placed 11th against Division I- and II ranked teams, while Andy Hammond and Kaleb Cantrell led the team in victories, with Hammond placing first in the 132-pound weight class and Cantrell placing fourth in the 285-pound weight class.
Other results are as follows: Titus Miller, 1-2, 126 pounds; Andy Hammond, 4-0, 132 pounds; Brandon Calvelage, 1-2, 138 pounds; Jacob Durden, 0-2, 145 pounds; Trevor Spridgeon, 0-2, 145 pounds; Josh Dorsch, 0-2, 152 pounds; Chandler Adams, 2-2, 170 pounds; Marcel Salcido, 0-2, 182 pounds; Brody Couts, 0-2, 220 ponds; and Kaleb Cantrell, 2-2, 285 pounds.
